About PMSH

A DREAM REALIZED

Pampanga Medical Specialist Hospital serves as a preeminent healthcare resource for the West Pampanga region and beyond. Since our inauguration in 2005, our organization has been striving to procure state-of-the art medical equipment for our doctors to practice their specialties, to provide excellent healthcare delivery, and to serve the needs of the community and the province of Pampanga.

In 2001, Dr. Jaime Flores and Dr. Zenon Ponce, both members of West Pampanga Ultrasound and Diagnostic Center Incorporated, broached the idea of the possibility of building a Tertiary Hospital in Western Pampanga. They presented this idea to the other doctors within their corporation, and Dr. Ferdinand de Mesa, Dr. Larry Fernando and Dr. Mildred Mariano ecstatically joined Dr. Flores and Dr. Ponce in making this idea become a reality.

Although this core group of doctors attempted to bring this dream to fruition under the helm of West Pampanga Ultrasound and Diagnostic Center, it was eventually decided that an entirely new and separate corporation should be formed. Many doctors from Western Pampanga were invited to join the corporation with the aim of creating the first doctor-owned hospital in Pampanga. Initially, twelve doctors accepted the invitation because they perceived the same belief that the burgeoning region of Western Pampanga needed a tertiary hospital. These doctors, whose conviction never waned, labored hard throughout an agonizing year and a half to make this dream a realization. These twelve doctors, in appreciation to their collective commitments and sacrifices, are now represented by the twelve Rays of the Rising Sun in the PMSH logo.

On March 3, 2003 the Pampanga Medical Specialist Hospital Inc. was registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission with Dr. Alvin Rene R. Susi as the President.

With a limited budget, the newly-formed corporation had difficulty finding an affordable and adequate lot upon which to build the hospital, until Dr. Natividad Morales who joined the Corporation, offered her property as her generous investment. On December 28, 2003, the Corporation had its Groundbreaking Activity.  As expected, other obstacles would soon arise. But by the Grace of God, the Corporation never wilted in their endeavor, and soon overcame them. Construction finally began in May 2004.  After all the anxieties, disappointments, and demoralization, PAMPANGA MEDICAL SPECIALIST HOSPITAL, with a 40-Bed Capacity, DOH Licensed Level 2 Hospital, with only 30 medical and non-medical dedicated employees, was inaugurated on November 8, 2005, thus opening its holistic doors to provide quality healthcare to the communities. Fr. Juan V. Ponce, who acted as adviser, officiated the Inaugural and Thanksgiving Mass. Dr. Rolando S. Banzon accepted the position of Medical Director.  And soon, in less than a year, April 30, 2006, with the perseverance and commitment of the Corporation to serve, the Department of Health upgraded the PMSH to a Level 3 Non-Teaching Hospital with an expanded 50-bed Capacity.

Today, Pampanga Medical Specialist Hospital is nestled in a once grassy farmland along Olongapo-Gapan Road, now Jose Abad Santos Highway. From a two-storey-building, equipped with the essentials of an Emergency Room, Operating Room, and Wards, the Hospital has grown into an advanced 80-Bed Tertiary Care Hospital, accredited by Philhealth, and providing employment to approximately 400 medical, paramedical, non-medical employees. The Hospital has obtained high-end equipments, such as CT Scans, 3D and 4D Ultrasounds, Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Instrumentations, and many more in order to increase the ability and capacity to provide advanced services to every patient. Originally only offering basic Medical Services, the Hospital has now proudly established an ICU, CCU, Hemo-Dialysis Center, Heart Station, and an Eye Center.

Finally, with Faith in the Great Healer, the Almighty God, and the expertise of the PMSH family, it is with unyielding commitment that the Pampanga Medical Specialist Hospital will continue to grow in order to enhance the availability of Medical Services by providing IMPROVED and QUALITY healthcare to the communities.
